Welcome to the MST Portal.
Multisystemic Therapy (MST) is a unique, goal-oriented, comprehensive treatment program designed to serve multi-problem youth in their community. MST is the only family-focused and community-based treatment program that has:
- been the focus of several major research studies, and
- demonstrated clinical- and cost-effectiveness for youth with complex emotional, social, and academic needs.
MST was developed at the Family Services Research Center at the Medical University of South Carolina, and uses only treatment strategies that are supported by research. MST is listed on SAMHSA's National Registry of Evidence-based Programs and Practices (NREPP), which reviews and rates mental-health and substance-abuse interventions and as a Blueprints for Violence Prevention model program which has the most stringent requirements and standards for an evidence-based treatment. MST Problem Sexual Behavior (PSB) is a clinical adaptation of MST that has been specifically designed and developed to treat youth (and their families) for problematic sexual behavior.
